“Although the forum has been in the pipeline for many months the recent South West Fires have underlined the importance of an effective emergency response – not just from the emergencies services but individuals and families too,” Warrnambool and Moyne Emergency Management Coordinator Sue Rondeau said.
“The forum on April 14 at Lake Pertobe is for everyone.
“Between noon and 3pm there will a large display of emergency services equipment including ambulances, CFA fire trucks, marine rescue boats, SES rescue trucks and Victoria Police highway patrol cars.
“There’ll be activities for children and have CFA volunteers, police, ambulance
s officers, Red Cross representatives, the Warrnambool Volunteer Coast Guard and Port Fairy Marine Rescue among others to answer all your questions.
“Feel free to ask what you can do to prepare yourself for an emergency and enjoy a barbecue at lovely Lake Pertobe.
“Members of emergency service agencies are also urged to attend from 9am-noon to listen to your emergency management colleagues talk about their new equipment, their capabilities and share in specialist knowledge.”
